  Primordials seem to have come from a separate realm of existence than most other creatures; some think they are from the deepest parts of outer space, others think they sprout from the ground or fall from the clouds themselves--debate continues about the truth of it all and the Primordials don't seem too eager to fill in the blanks. What most do know is that they come from eggs that appear as earthly stones, usually precious gems and thus they are coveted the moment they are discovered. Each one is imbued with special abilities, something most would call magic, that is attuned the this stone. They are also quite durable, to the point where most means of killing would be hard-pressed to end their lives; it is because of this that they are presumed to be immortals.
  
  Vatinia's story begins the same as it does for all Primordials; as an egg. The egg is not a prison but merely a vessel for the creature within, as they can freely dictate how long they remain within their eggs. Vatinia has quite possibly opted for this existence for the longest of any Primordial, remaining within her egg for almost two hundred thousand years. The egg was found by a budding race of creatures, humans, who at first merely coveted the perfectly smoothed stone for its beauty and design. They couldn't possibly know of the power within, but despite that the Primordial's specific magic influenced the men of the region. The egg invoked calm and cooperation between the primitives, and in turn so long as they remained in the presence of the Primordial they continued to flourish without knowing the truth of their own success. They settled the lands and began to build structures, which then became towns, keeping the egg safe as a relic of the glorious age to come. Their leaders met in the presence of the egg and found cooperation and trust between each other and it was through this that they laid down their arms and worked in the name of advancement.
  
  This would continue to be the case for the majority of Vatinia's time spent within the egg, though as superstition and mysticism became less and less prominent and men found their strength to be within logic and alchemy she found herself forgotten. Like a beloved children's toy that found a place within the attic and not the trash, she was kept within musty archives or nestled with other ancient relics to be viewed with nostalgic reverence.
  
  And this would be perhaps the most painful part of her story, though not as tragic as some. From the safety of the gemstone egg she had felt and cultivated the civilization that bloomed around her. And during all these years a weakness had eaten its way into the Primordial's heart like a gnawing insect but by the time she truly understood the depth of it there was nothing that could be done. Vatinia loved the humans. Their strength, the zeal they had for lives that ended so swiftly, as well as their intellect. But she would never be human. For all her power she knew that she would never be accepted by them--and to be hated by that which she had fallen for was a fate that she would not bear. So in the egg she remained for a time longer, until the keep of the humans fell. Her egg was taken and added to the spoils of war, shipped away on a dark sea to places unknown...
